John Brown was a funeral director in Norwich for many years before starting on his own in 1970. First of all he was on Constitution Hill in Sprowston.
Then in 1972 he acquired the site of the Old Catton Methodist Church on North Walsham Road Sprowston were we still are today, some 40 years later.
The Methodist chapel had to be sadly brought to ground and the new funeral home was born. John worked hard with his family and built the business until he was pleased to have David Bridge join him in 1996.
David had been in the funeral profession since the age of 16 and with now over 40 years experience he now runs the funeral home.
We are very proud to still be fully independent family funeral directors with our own modern Volvo fleet of cars. Refurbished chapel of rest and office on our own extensive and tranquil grounds and gardens.
Dealing with funeral arrangements is thankfully something people have to contend with on only a few occasions in their lifetimes. We’ll be with you every step of the way.
We will ask you who, if anyone, will speak during the services, any prayers you would like to be said or hymns to be sung, and any particular music choices that need to be made.
If there is a will or pre-arranged funeral plan, where the burial will take place or if there is to be a cremation, and whether the services will be religious or otherwise.
After The Service
We’ll need to know if you would like us to collect the cards from floral tributes for you to keep, and if there is to be any kind of wake or reception after the service.
At John Brown Funeral Services we have been dealing with funeral planning on behalf of people throughout Norwich and Norfolk for over 40 years. Please contact us if we can help you.
