Pizza Margherita is an Italian restaurant with a difference.
The difference is we specialise in pizza so it has to be very good. As an alternative we do have several pastas and interesting starters which some of our customers have as a main course. Our desserts are well loved.
You are also welcome to come in at any time of the day for a glass of wine or simply coffee. On the other hand, a pizza, a salad and a glass of very respectable house wine taken in what has been described as a delightfully casual atmosphere is a pleasure indeed.
Children of all ages are welcome. We have high chairs and a toy box for little ones and a special children’s menu.
Our Story
In 1979, having bought and restored the old linoleum warehouse in Moor Lane, Clementine Allen (whose brother founded the internationally acclaimed Pizza Express) opened Pizza Margherita on the 4th of December. At that time, Pizza was something of an unknown quantity; but within a year, Pizza Margherita had established a name for great quality food served in a wonderful atmosphere. Today, over thirty seven years later, we are still making amazing pizza according to our many regular customers some of whom have been coming since we opened.
Each month we have a ‘specials’ menu. This will offer you a choice of a starter, main course and dessert which is not part of the regular menu.
