The Blue Door Gallery is an independent gallery on Murray Street, Montrose. The shop was opened in 1994 by Angela Howe with a view to showcasing the work of talented artists, living locally and further afield.
Take a look inside and you’ll find a varied selection of original paintings as well as limited and open edition prints, including photographs of the local area which capture its rich history. Visitors are welcome to browse and purchase any pieces they would like to add to their collection.
A bespoke framing service is also available; beautiful frames can be made to compliment all kinds of artwork. We specialise in needlework framing using traditional techniques. Prior to beginning the work, we’ll discuss the exact design and colours you’d like to ensure the finished product meets your expectations.
22 years since we began, the gallery continues to grow in popularity, thanks to the support of local art collectors and enthusiasts. Our stock is ever changing, but whenever you call in, you’re sure to find an interesting assortment of paintings, handmade sculptures, and other curiosities. No matter what your tastes or budget, we’re sure you’ll find something you love.
The Blue Door Gallery proudly displays the work of gifted painters and photographers, many of whom live here in Angus.
You’ll also find unique items to add colour & life to your home, including beautiful bronze animal sculptures, hand carved wooden birds and much more.
If you have any enquiries about any products on display, simply ask and we will be happy to advise. Many of the products we have on display are one-off items, so if you see something you like, it’s advisable to pick it up sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment.
If you’d like your purchase to compliment the decor of your home, why not opt for a bespoke frame?
If you have any enquiries about the items we have in stock, please don’t hesitate to get in touch and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
We hope to see you soon!
