The Blue Door Gallery is an independent gallery on Murray Street, Montrose. The shop was opened in 1994 by Angela Howe with a view to showcasing the work of talented artists, living locally and further afield.
Take a look inside and you’ll find a varied selection of original paintings as well as limited and open edition prints, including photographs of the local area which capture its rich history. Visitors are welcome to browse and purchase any pieces they would like to add to their collection.
A bespoke framing service is also available; beautiful frames can be made to compliment all kinds of artwork. We specialise in needlework framing using traditional techniques. Prior to beginning the work, we’ll discuss the exact design and colours you’d like to ensure the finished product meets your expectations.
22 years since we began, the gallery continues to grow in popularity, thanks to the support of local art collectors and enthusiasts. Our stock is ever changing, but whenever you call in, you’re sure to find an interesting assortment of paintings, handmade sculptures, and other curiosities. No matter what your tastes or budget, we’re sure you’ll find something you love.
